Ladder made of aluminium
Rungs and rails of CityStep are made of aluminium profiles
- primary aluminium
- aluminium profiles are extruded
- cut ends of profiles are debarred
How rungs are fixed on rails
- rungs and rails are crimped together with new crimping technique
in order to:
- fasten production cycle
- improve precision of crimping process
- reduce deformation of aluminium rungs and rails
- increase resistance against torsion
Rungs are covered with polyamide caps

cap is fixed on rung with integrated polyamide rivet |
Spring loaded bolts/locking pins are made of polyamide
- reinforced with galvanized steel
- the guide of the steel-bolt is made of polyamide too:
-- to allow fast assembling
-- to act as shock absorber and protect the steel-bolt
-- for easy replacing and recycling
Welded rungs
Sliding ladders of CityStep are welded. Today aluminium welding is
one of the most widely used bonding technique for light alloys. All alloys
can be resistance welded and, apart from a few composite materials and
a few foundry alloys, most of them can be inert gas arc welded.
Rungs of sliding ladders are welded with MIG method (material Electrode
Inert Gas Method) . Rollers push the aluminium wire inside the torch until
it reaches the arc where it is melted and deposited.
Welding quality
The strength of a welding depends on
- the type of basic alloy
- the geometry of the bond
- the deposited material
- the precision of the technique
- the heat control
Welding quality control is guaranteed by
- 6 axis welding robot
- with intelligent inverter welding program
- with fully electronic absolute position detection
- with digital servo mechanism
- 100% sight inspection
Two bolt hinges made of
- high grade galvanized steel (6 parts)
- poliamid (4 parts)
- automatic locking in all positions (0°, 35°, 180°)
- easy in field replacement of the handle
- custom designed marking.
Ladder shoes
Shoes are made of polivinilchlorid (PVC)
Packaging
The ladder is packed in 0.03 mm shrinked transparent polietilen foil (PET). |
